About Our Pastor—Reverend Kurt L. Bowen
Rev. Kurt L. Bowen, a dedicated servant of God and a native of Montego Bay, Jamaica, has been transformed by God’s grace and called to a life of ministry. His journey began over 18 years ago at the Montego Bay New Testament Church of God, where he faithfully served in various capacities, including youth president, Sunday school teacher, deacon, and lay preacher. His passion for evangelism, discipleship, and leadership was ignited through tent crusades, conventions, and school outreach programs.
Answering the call to pastoral ministry, Rev. Bowen earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology with a minor in Guidance and Counseling from Bethel Bible College of the Caribbean-Jamaica. He later completed his Master of Arts in Biblical Studies at South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary, where he focused on ‘the integration of theological engagement and spiritual empowerment for effective Christian ministry and leadership.’
Rev. Bowen faithfully pastored two congregations in the New Testament Church of God-Jamaica before migrating to the United States. Upon his arrival, he served as the Executive Pastor at Victory Place International Worship Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He now leads as the Senior Pastor of Palmetto Church of God in Fort Myers, Florida. In addition to his pastoral ministry, he is a theological educator, serving as an adjunct lecturer at Jamaica Theological Seminary.
He is passionate about building a Christ-centered, Spirit-led, and mission-driven church, equipping believers to live out their faith boldly. His guiding scripture is Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
He is happily married to his wife, Lady Denesha Bowen, his rock-solid support and partner in ministry. Together, they are committed to leading Palmetto Church of God into a season of transformation, faith, and Kingdom impact.
